Damage Control

Scene:  Alexis Colby’s office – Colbyco…..

Colbyco

Alexis (on the phone):  I don’t care what Denver-Carrington’s doing.  We are moving ahead with that deal in Saudi Arabia.  There’s just too much at stake…..No.  We’re going ahead with the deal and that’s final…..I said we’re moving ahead as planned…..I don’t care who says we’re making a mistake.

David:  Mrs. Colby?

Oliver-Jackson-Cohen-200x300

Alexis:  Yes, David?

David:  Admiral and Mrs. Jennings are here.

Alexis:  Tell them I much too busy to see them right now.

PatrickJenningsTerriGarber

Leslie:  We heard you, Alexis.

Patrick:  Relax, Alexis.  We come in peace.

Alexis:  All right.  What is it you want?

Patrick:  I suppose you heard that Denver-Carrington is taking a wait and see approach with regard to doing business with Saudi Arabia.

Alexis:  Yes.  I heard, but Colbyco isn’t.  We have a deal with the Saudi government.

Patrick:  I don’t know if you’re aware of it or not, but the U.S. Government may end up imposing sanctions because of the disappearance of that journalist.

Leslie:  Alexis we know that Colbyco has been teetering on the brink for a long time.  If the U.S. Government imposes sanctions on Saudi Arabia, that’s only going to hurt Colbyco even more in the long run.  Depending on what sanctions, if any, are imposed, Colbyco could end up being fined or shut down completely.

Patrick:  Alexis we are standing by the President no matter what he choses to do and I suggest that, if you know what’s good for your business, you will do the same.

Leslie:  Think about what we said.  We’ll see ourselves out.

Dominque (meeting with Nick, Milton Sandra and Cecilia):  I understand that Patrick is taking a wait and see approach with regard to Saudi Arabia.

Milton:  That’s right, Mom.  Denver-Carrington is standing in line with the President.

Sandra:  I’ve talked to Leslie about this and she told me that Denver-Carrington pulled out of discussions regarding their new guidance system because of the investigation.

Nick:  I think Patrick’s right.  I think we should just wait and see with regard to the Saudis.

Cecilia:  I’ve worked with the Saudi government in the past, but I don’t know what to make of this new Crown Prince.

Corrie (then comes into the meeting room):  Excuse me, Grandma, but do you want me to issue a statement on the Saudi situation on behalf of the Deveraux Group?

VanessaMorgan2

Dominique:  Yes, dear.  We are going along with Denver-Carrington on this issue and the Deveraux Group will be going along with whatever the government decides to do.

Corrie:  Thank you, Grandma.  Oh Mom.  Daddy.  Grandma.  I just wanted to let you know that I’ve met someone.

Milton:  Hey!  That’s great.

Sandra:  Oh, Baby, we’re so happy for you.

Dominque:  That’s wonderful, dear.  Who is he?

Corrie:  Well…..Daddy…..Nick…..he’s a friend of Patrick’s.

Sandra:  So  who is he?

Corrie:  You all may already know him.  His name is Roy.  Roy Smith, Jr.

Nick:  Roy Smith, Jr.?  You mean “Smitty” the FBI Agent.

Corrie:  Yes I do and I really really like him.

Milton:  We just want you to be happy.

Corrie:  I really am, Daddy.

Nick:  We are really happy for you, Corrie.  I know “Smitty” really well.  He’s a good man.

Corrie:  Thanks, Nick.

Cecilia:  Girl.  I’ve seen him before.  He is gorgeous.

Corrie:  Can I bring him out to the house sometime?

Dominique:  Of course you can, dear.

Corrie (kisses Dominique on the cheek):  Oh, Grandma.  Thank you.  🙂

Allison (comes into the Deveraux Group offices):  Excuse me.  I hope I’m not interrupting anything.

Dominique:  No.  Not at all, Allison come in.

Allison:  The Boss is asking me to make the statement regarding the Saudi situation on behalf of the Texorado Energy Cartel and, before I do, he wants to know what position the Deveraux Group will be taking.

Milton:  You can tell my shipmate that the Deveraux Group is taking the same position as Denver-Carrington.  We are standing by our government no matter what they decide to do.

Allison:  Thank you, Milton I will.

(a few minutes later in Patrick and Leslie’s office)

Miranda:  So how did it go at Alexis’ office?

selena-gomez-HD-image

Patrick:  I swear to God it’s like talking to a brick wall.

Leslie:  You know how pig-headed and stubborn she can be.

Miranda:  Guys.  Danny’s in your office with D.J. Bedz.

Patrick:  Thanks, Miranda.

jonathan-jacksonDJBedz2

Danny:  Uncle Pat.  Aunt Leslie.  I’d like you to meet my friend Cassidy Bednark, otherwise known as D.J. Bedz.

Leslie:  Nice to meet you.  We’ve heard a lot about you from Danny.

Cassidy:  All good I hope.  🙂

Patrick:  Oh yeah.  I’ve heard about the charity work you do with the Broncos, the Nuggets and the Avalanche.

Cassidy:  It’s my way of giving back to the community.

Patrick:  I think it’s great.

Cassidy:  I heard Denver-Carrington is planning to buy KFCO.

Leslie:  That’s right and one of the first things we want to do is make sure you’re locked in.

Patrick:  We’re offering you three years at what you’re making now and half again.

Cassidy:  Four.

Patrick:  Deal.  We’ll get with your station manager and hammer out the terms.  Kid.  We need to head over to the Pepsi Center.  Stan Kroenke is meeting us.  Babe.  You want to come with us?  Emily is already down there setting things up.
