Scene:  Patrick and Leslie’s office – Denver-Carrington Center…..

dc-new

Aristea Brady (on the Fox 31 Morning News):  This was the scene yesterday at the Brown Palace Hotel in Downtown Denver as Carol Marshall, Harris Ryland and Billy Waite, Jr. were taken into custody by Federal agents.  Carol Marshall was arrested on Federal charges of Extortion and Racketeering.  Harris Ryland and Billy  Waite, Jr. are also facing Extortion and Racketeering charges.  Ryland and Waite are also facing charges of Treason, which stem from their alleged involvement in an illegal oil deal with North Korea.  If convicted, Mrs. Marshall could be looking at a maximum of 15-20 years in Federal prison while Mr. Ryland and Mr. Waite could be looking at the possibility of life in prison with no supervised release.   Mrs. Marshall is the former co-owner, with Alexis Colby, of what would become Reece House of Fashion.  Ryland is the head of Ryland Transportation while Mr. Waite is the CEO of Dallas-based WestStar Oil.  All three are being held in Denver County Jail and are due be arraigned in U.S. District Court on Monday.

Leslie:  Now.  If they could just build a case against Alexis.

Patrick:  Tell me about it.  (comes up behind holds his wife and holds her close)  It’s nice to have everything back to normal.

Leslie (turns her head and kisses her husband):  Tell me about it.

Miranda:  Guys.  Dex is here.

Leslie:  Thanks, Miranda.  Send him in.

Dex (comes into the office):  Guys.  I just talked to Fred Stoss a little bit ago.  He is leaving Warren Air Force Base right now and he is on his way here.

Leslie:  That awesome, Dex.  Thank you.

Dex:  Just trying to get you up to speed.

Patrick: You know, Dex.  I was just thinking about something.

Dex:  What’s that?

Patrick:  All this mess with Carol Marshall.  I wonder if old Percy Havensworth had anything to do with it.

Dex:  Probably not.  I don’t think the fashion industry was exactly his bailiwick.

Leslie:  I just hope to God he’s not in Denver sniffing around while Hap Briggs is here.

Patrick:  If he is. Alexis will probably try to send him over here to see if he can get a meeting with Hap and, knowing him, he’ll probably do her bidding like he’s Granny’s Little Lap Dog or something.  You know.  With regard to Ryland and Waite.  Since the Korean War isn’t TECHNICALLY over, a case could be made for the government to have them shot.

Dex:  That’s true.  Aid and comfort to the enemy in time of war is punishable by death.

(meanwhile at Alexis’ office – Colbyco)

Alexis:  Percy, dahling.  Do come in.

Percy:  Alexis.  What can I do for you?

Alexis:  Well…..I don’t know if you’re aware, but Leslie Jennings was released from jail the other day.

Percy:  Yes.  I heard.

Alexis:  Unfortunately, Carol Marshall went in.

Percy:  I saw that on the news this morning.  I understand that Hap Briggs is going to be in Denver today.

Alexis:  That’s right.  That’s we’re going to go to Denver-Carrington and see if we can get a meeting with him.  I’ve heard there is another oil boom taking place in North Dakota and I want in.

Percy:  Alexis  I don’t know if Denver-Carrington’s going to let us in.

David:  Mrs. Colby.  Mrs.  Waite is on the phone.

Alexis:  Thank you, David.  (picks up the phone) Claudia, dahling!

Claudia: I suppose you heard about my son.

Alexis:  Yes.  Both he and Harris Ryland were arrested yesterday.  Here in Denver as a matter of fact.

Claudia:  I just know that Patrick and Leslie Jennings had something to do with it.

Alexis:  I’m quite sure of it.

Claudia:  That one again leaves WestStar without a CEO.

RaquelWelch

Alexis:  Are you suggesting that we retain the services of Clifford Barnes?

Claudia:  Unfortunately.  I don’t think we have a choice, Alexis.  I’ll have to call him into my office and give him the good news.

Alexis:  Well, Claudia.  I’m thinking maybe we can get a meeting with Harlan Briggs.  I heard he’s in Denver for a meeting.

Claudia:  That would be wonderful.  Please let know.  Will you, Alexis, dear.

Alexis:  Of course, Claudia.  Ciao, dahling.

Jeff:  We’re here.

L.B.:  What do you need, Uncle Pat?

Patrick:  Guys.  We’ve got Hap Briggs and General Fred Stoss, the Commanding General at Warren Air Force Base coming in a few minutes.  Pup.  I’m going to need you to get with your cousin Sebastian at Colby/Dexter and run the cost estimates for drilling.

L.B.:  You got it, Uncle Pat.

Leslie:  I heard Hap’s bringing his  Legal Counsel.  A guy named Jack Stone.

Allison:  Wait, Leslie!  Did you say Jack Stone???

Leslie:  I did.  How come?

Allison:  Well…..He and I went to Stanford Law together and…..we….ummmmm…..dated after L.B. and I broke up the first time and before Sam.

Leslie:  Does L.B. know?

Allison:  He does.  He had no earthly idea that Jack would show up here and now.

Leslie:  Sweetheart.  Nobody did.  Don’t worry about it.

Miranda:  Guys.  General Stoss is here with Mr. Briggs and a Mr. Jack Stone.

Patrick:  Thanks, Miranda send them in and bring your laptop.

Miranda:  Yes, Patrick.

Major General Fred Stoss:  Dex!  How are ya?

DonJohnsonJackReynorFredStoss

Dex:  Fred.  It’s been a long time. I’s like to introduce you to the CEO of Denver-Carrington Vice Admiral Patrick Carrington Jennings, I, USNR.

Patrick:  General.

General Stoss:  Admiral.

Patrick:  Please.  Call me Pat.

General Stoss:  Fred.

Hap:  Pat.  How the hell are ya?  Leslie.  It’s a pleasure as always.

Leslie:  Sable’s not with you?

Hap:  Nah.  She had to head back to Los Angeles.  As a matter of fact, I have some other business down there next week.

Patrick:  Let me introduce everybody.  The President of Denver-Carrington and my wife Leslie Carrington Jennings.  Our Board Chairman Brigadier General Jeff Colby, USAFR (ret.).  My son and our Senior Vice President of Government and Defense Relations Lieutenant J.G. Patrick Carrington Jennings, II, USNR.  Our Chief Legal Counsel Jason Fallmont, Esquire.  Our point man on Contract Law Gerald Wilson, III, Esquire.  Our Chief Financial Officer Blake Carrington Colby.  His wife and the Chief Legal Counsel of the Texorado Energy Cartel Allison Wilson Colby, Esquire.  Last and certainly NOT least our Executive Assistant Miranda Gonzales.

Hap:  Let me introduce my Legal Counsel Jack Stone

Jack Stone:  Oh my God!  Allison???

Allison:  Jack???

Jack Stone:  It’s been so long.

Patrick (claps his hands together):  Shall we get down to it?

Hap:  No time like the present.

General Stoss:  Well…..to begin with, Denver-Carrington has put in a preemptive bid on the fuel contract for Warren Air Force, which is poised to become one of the support bases as the United States Space Force reaches its full potential.

Patrick, II:  With all due respect, Sir.  Mr. Wilson and I have looked over the contract and I find it to be mutually beneficial to all parties.

Gerald:  I assure you General Stoss.  We find joint ventures to be more beneficial.

General Stoss:  I quite agree, Lieutenant Jennings, Mr. Wilson.

Patrick, II:  As a matter of fact,  We are ready to deliver high grade JP-5 from our Commerce City refinery right now.

Patrick:  Which brings to the main reason we’re here.

Leslie:  We know Warren Air Force Base has done business with Briggs Oil in the past.  In that light, we are looking to bring in Briggs Oil as a partner in this venture.

Patrick:  We hope you find that to be acceptable , Hap.

Hap:  I do.  As a matter of fact, Briggs Oil has a refinery in Minot that specializes in manufacturing JP-5

Jeff:  I think that there’s room enough at both refineries for this job.  Denver-Carrington has been manufacturing JP-5 for the U.S. Navy for years.  We can send some of our fuel to Minot for refinement.

Patrick:  With the creation of a sixth branch of the nations; armed services could come an increased demand for JP-5

Leslie:  JP-5 is, of course the most widely manufactured jet fuel for military use in the world.  We do also manufacture JP-6, 7 and 8 as well as 9 and 10 on a limited basis.  9 and 10 being fuel used for missiles.

General Stoss:  I know Denver-Carrington’s reputation, General Colby.  Jack Wilkinson at Whiteman talks about you guys all the time.

Jeff:  Jeff, please.

General Stoss:  Of course.  Jeff.

Hap:  Of course you all know that we have gotten some severe weather this winter, which could cause problems for drilling.

Dex:  We’re aware of that situation Hap and Colby/Dexter has created the Trirock drill bit, which has been successfully tested in the Canadian Tar Sands.

Leslie:  The Pipe we use comes through an agreement we have with Rourke Industries of Memphis, Tennessee.  I worked with them before in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut and it withstands temperatures of down to minus 50 Fahrenheit.

Patrick:  Given the fact that we have the proper equipment that has been successfully tested in all weather conditions, I see ne reason that we shouldn’t start drilling as soon after the Holidays as possible.

Dex:  Which is why Colby/Dexter wants to send a crew up to North Dakota to begin construction on a test well next week.

Hap:  Well.  All right then.  I think we can let our legal experts and our bean counters hammer out the final details.

Patrick:  Well good.  It looks like we have a deal and we’d like to have you all out the mansion to celebrate tomorrow night.  Do mind if I ask where you all are staying?

Hap:  We’re staying at a really nice hotel in Arvada.  La Mirage.

Patrick:  You don’t say.  🙂

Jeff:  It is a fine hotel.  Denver-Carrington owns it.  It falls under the umbrella of our Real Estate and Properties Division, which is run by my wife Fallon.

Hap:  Looks like we have a deal.

Patrick:  Fred?

General Stoss:  We have a deal.
