Scene: The Carrington mansion – Golden, Colorado…..

(Drew Colby and Colleen Murphy ring the front doorbell of the Carrington mansion)
George: Mr. Drew and Miss Colleen. What can we do for you?
Colleen: Hello, George. Is Admiral Jennings here?
Drew: We’re here for some materials for our World War II presentation for History class.
Colleen (sees the cat sitting on the setee in the entrance hall and pets her): Hey, Roxie girl. 🙂
George: I’ll tell the Admiral you’re both here.

Krystle (smiling as she comes into the entrance hall): She sure does like you, Colleen. 🙂 Hello, Drew. How are you?

Drew: Fine thanks, Krystle. We’re here to see Patrick. He has some things he was going to lend us for our presentation on World War II tomorrow.
Krystle: Oh. That’s nice. He and Leslie are outside with Abbie right now, but in the meantime, Inga has made a fresh batch of Christmas cookies and we need you to be our official testers.
Colleen: That’d be nice. Thank you, Krystle.
Drew: Yeah. Thank you, Krystle.
Krystle: Drew. Are you parents and grandparents coming to our Christmas Party?
Drew: They sure are.
Krystle: What about you two?
Drew: We wouldn’t miss it.
Krystle: Colleen. I know your father works for Denver-Carrington. Why don’t you tell your mom and dad to join us also?
Colleen: Thanks, Krystle. I will. (sees Terry J coming into the room): Hey, Terry! 🙂
Terry J. Hey, Colleen. I’m glad you’re here. Do you have a minute?

Colleen: Sure, Terry. What’s up?
Terry: You still want to come down to The Chronicle during your Christmas break?
Colleen: I sure do.
Terry: How’s the 26th or 27th work for you?
Colleen: Great! 🙂
Terry: How about the 26th AND the 27th?
Collen: Sure!
Terry: Good. You can come down and help me out with The Chronicle.com website a little bit.
Colleen: Can we drive in together like real co-workers?
Terry: Sure. I’ll pick you up at your place. Just tell me where you live.
Colleen: Thanks, Terry. I will.
Patrick (comes back in with Leslie and Abbie): Hey! Drew. Colleen. What brings you guys here?
Drew: We have our World War II presentation for History class coming up tomorrow.
Colleen: We were wondering if you could lend those materials we talked about before.
Leslie: Of course we can.
Colleen (sees Abbie): Hey, Abbie! Come here, girl! 🙂 (bends over and pets the dog)

Patrick: Why don’t we go into the library? The material you guys need is in there.
Drew: Sounds good.
Leslie: Patrick told me what you guys need. Here’s Blake’s Bomber Jacket, Jason’s Sergeant’s stripes and part of his tool kit and somebody’s medal.
Patrick: Here’s a photograph of Blake with his squadron, a couple of pictures of Jason and a couple of Blake’s maps. Please remember to be careful with the maps.

Leslie: You might want these too. A picture of Vicountess Nancy Astor, the leader of the Cliveden Set and a picture of Alexis’ father who was supposed to kill Churchill.
Patrick: And who worked with Hitler.

Drew: This all really cool. Thanks a lot. Patrick would you mind if I wore Blake’s bomber jacket? I think it would really cool for the presentation.
Patrick: I don’t see that being a problem. Just be careful with it and for God sakes don’t lose it.
Drew: I won’t lose it and I’ll be careful. I promise. I’ll wear it in school all day long.
Colleen: We really appreciate this. 🙂
Patrick: Good luck tomorrow, guys.
Leslie: We’ll be rooting for you.
(Monday morning – Alexis’ office -Colbyco)

Alexis (on her phone): Hello?
Claudia Waite: Alexis. It’s Claudia.
Alexis: Claudia dahling!
Claudia: I understand we have a problem with regard to WestStar.
Alexis: Claudia if you mean Sable Colby, yes I know. She came into my office the other announcing that she was now the 10% owner of WestStar Oil.
Claudia: I see.
Alexis: Not only that, but we’re supposed to seat her on the WestStar Board of Directors. What are we supposed to do for a CEO now that your son has been arrested?
Claudia: Well…..even though he has blown several very important deals for us, especially the deal with Rourke Industries, we are faced with little choice but to retain Cliff Barnes as CEO.
Alexis: Well…..I suppose if we have to, we have to. Now what about Jeremy Wendell?
Claudia: Jeremy is still a major stockholder in the company, I would suggest not getting on his bad side. Just ask the Ewings about that.

(meanwhile at Golden High School – Drew and Colleen are giving their Power Point presentation for history class)

Colleen: And this is a photograph of Captain Blake Carrington with his squadron taken about three weeks before Operation Overlord.
Drew (wearing Blake’s bomber jacket): Captain Carrington and two other men parachuted behind enemy lines to gather intelligence for General Eisenhower that would prove vital to the success of the D-Day Invasion. Captain Carrington was the only one that made it back to England alive. The information got into the right hands and Operation Overlord was ultimately successful.
(a little later in the presentation)
Colleen: This is Vicountess Nancy Astor. She was born in the United States, but married into British nobility. Her husband Waldorf Astor was a member of the British House of Lords. She was also the leader of a group called the Cliveden Set that promoted a policy of appeasement with Hitler and tried to negotiate Great Britain’s surrender to Nazi Germany during World War II. This is Stephen Morell. A hat maker to the Royal Family, he was also linked to Nazi Germany and was the Cliveden Set’s triggerman in a failed plot to assassinate British Prime Minister Winston Churchill.
Drew: He was also involved with the Cliveden Set in a plot to restore the Duke of Windsor, the former King Edward VIII, to the British throne, which would have made Great Britain a puppet state of Nazi Germany.
(still later in the presentation)
Drew: And finally. This is my Great Grandfather Jason Colby. He was a Staff Sergeant in the Army Corps – now known as the U.S. Air Force. Sergeant Colby served in the Pacific and was the Chief Mechanic on the Enola Gay. The Enola Gay, of course, was the plane that dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan on August 6, 1945, which helped bring about the end of World War II.
Colleen: It was said that President Truman’s decision to drop the bomb instead of mounting a full scale invasion of Japan helped to save millions of American and Japanese lives. Operation Olympia was scheduled for March of 1946, which meant that World War II would have dragged on for another seven months. This concludes our presentation. Thank you very much.
(the teacher and their fellow students applaud)

Dr. Bob Taylor: Mr. Colby. Miss Murphy. Your presentation was wonderful. Very well researched. I’m giving you an A plus!
(Drew and Colleen hug)
Drew: Thank you, Dr. Taylor.
Colleen: Really. Thank you.
(meanwhile back at Alexis’ office – Colbyco)
Alexis (on her phone): Percy what are you telling me?
Percy: I’m sorry. Alexis, but your wells in Indonesia aren’t producing like we thought they would. Your drilling equipment is old and outdated. I tried to go to Colby/Dexter, but they won’t sell to you. I had to go to a company called Al-Jafir Exploration out of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In order to secure the necessary equipment, I had to arrange for one of your assets to be sold off.
Alexis: Which one?
Percy: Your book publishing firm. Creighton Publishing.
Alexis: I see. Who was the buyer?
Percy: A Denver-based company. Troxell Enterprises.

(meanwhile at Troxell Pictures Studios – Hollywood, California)

Vanessa Morell: So I see that your parent company Troxell Enterprises has bought Creighton Publishing.
Leonard Chambers: That’s right. We discovered a very interesting manuscript. It was the unpublished manuscript of your mother’s tell all book about your Aunt, Sister Dearest. It was just sitting on top of the refrigerator in the employee break room.
Vanessa: Excellent! 🙂
Leonard: Naturally, since your mother is dead, we decided to contact you. You say you found the sequel manuscript where??
Vanessa: In a safe deposit box my mother held in London.
Leonard: And your terms are??
Vanessa: Of course, I sell you the rights to Sister Dearest and its sequel AND I want a percentage of the film’s profits AND my mother’s name in the screen credits.
Leonard: Of course. I guarantee you, Miss Morell that Sister Dearest will be the biggest Blockbuster movie of Christmas 2020.
Vanessa: Wonderful! So we’ve come to terms?
Leonard: We have come to terms.
Vanessa (walking out of Leonard’s office): Oh Auntie Alexis! You won’t know what hit you. (then looks skyward) Mother. I’m going to finish what you started.
